From Segovia, La Granja de San Ildefonso, formerly the Spanish
royal court under Felipe V is open to visitors. From the Parador
can be seen the best panoramic view of Segovia.
Exterior: The hotel itself stands on a natural terrace known as
Mirador de la Lastrilla, from which it commands a spectacular view
of the city and surrounding countryside. It is a red brick, modern
construction which was built in 1978 and comprises of different
adjacent blocks, facing the wonderful architecture of the city.
Lobby: The very spacious lobby displays modern paintings and design
elements in clear contracts with the simple, circular lines frame
the heated swimming pool.
Rooms
The modern rooms are quiet and include a balcony. All facilities in
rooms are free except the minibar and Internet access. These
include an en suite bathroom, a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone,
a TV, a double/king-size bed, central air conditioning and heating
as well as a safe.
Restaurant & Food
The dining room of the hotel has already gained a reputation for
being a unique, rich and generous forum for Segovian cuisine.
Activities & Sport
The hotel features a heated indoor swimming pool in the winter and
an outdoor swimming pool in the summer, sauna (added fee) and a gym
(free). There are also sun loungers and parasols, massage
treatments (for a fee), tennis courts and table tennis. The nearest
golf course is around 20 km away in San Rafael along with
Navacerrada ski area.
Comments
Safes are available in all rooms and parking is free although the
garage incurs a fee. Check in/check out midday; the reception is
open 24 hours.
